I myself normally resist change and I believe there are some of you who are like me. Perhaps changes are not as bad as we imagine and since we cannot stop these changes happening, then we may learn to face then in a better way and see the benefits of new circumstances and experiences.
We are going to work with a text and a video called "Who moved my cheese". It is based in the same book by Spencer Johnson.
This book is a simple parable that tells an amusing story of 4 characters who live in a maze* and look for cheese to nourish* them and make them happy. They represent the way different people behave when they face change in their life.
In this parable* cheese is a metaphor for what we want to have in life: a job, love, friends, money, a big house, freedom, health, recognition, etc.
And the maze represents where you spend time looking for what you want.
The 4 characters are *Sniff, Scurry, Hem and Haw*
* Parable - parábola.
* maze - laberinto
* nourish - nutrirse, alimentarse
* scurry (apresurarse), sniff (husmear), hem (cohibir), hem and haw (vacilar)
YOUR TASK:
1. First, we will read this summary , and order the key events of the parable according to the story and the video. We will work with it in the classroom later.
2. Next, watch the video as many times as you need to understand it. Take a note on your notebook of the statements Haw writes on the wall, and translate them.
You can also have a look at this excerpt from the book.
3. After that we will work with this presentation and will transform as many statements as you can into conditional sentences (we will revise this exercise in the classroom).
4. Finally, in pairs, think of a situation where a change takes place in your life. Each of you will play a role (scurry, sniff, hem or haw) and then you will write together about what you would do if you were one of those characters in that situation. Bring your comments to the classroom, then you will have to write them on the blog.

Our situatios is about two girls,(they are homosexual),that they have married.But her family ande friends don't know it.
Then, when they knew the surprise, the life of the girls really changes, because a lot o f her friends don't talk with them, don't ring them to go out and don't want to help them, as well as her family.
They are confused but this don't influence their beautiful relation ship.
_If I were SNIFF, I would know the answer of my famly and friends, then i would found a soluction very quick, for example i would disguise and I would be more repressed.
_If I were HEM, i would not change my life ande the situation.
I would talk with them and i would try that they understand it, for they change their way of think ande like this they would understand our feeling.

*When you go abroad to study*
Hi! I'm Sara, today I´m writting in my blog to explain the biggest change in my life.
I have finished the high school and now I'm going to London to study but I'm not sure because I dont't want to loose my best friends, my family, my boyfriend... It's difficult.
If I went to study out I would be alone and I wouldn't like it.
If I went to London, I would learn a lot... I would see the Big Ban, I love this monument! So, if I travelled abroad, I would learn to live with other different people and to know their cultures, it would be fantastic!
But... my best friend doesn't want me to leave and I don't know what to do.

Hi! I'm Laura. I'm Sara's best friend. I'm writting here to answer Sara. I'm explaining the reasons why Sara doesn't go.
If she stays here, she won't be alone.
If she went to London, she wouldn't help me with my problems and I would miss her.
If she stayed here, she would see how her brother grows, she wouldn't leave her boyfriend... it would be the worst.
But, if she went abroad, I would complain whith her... and I would accept her decision.
We will be friends forever and we will be together although we would live in diffenrent countries.

Dear Isabel:
I write you because maybe my family will move to the United States. If we went to EE.UU. I would learn English, because my english now isn't very good and I have to improve it.
One of the positive things moving to another country is that I could learn a new culture.
But one of the negative things is that if I moved to EE.UU. ,I would miss my family and my friends and it will be very hard, although I will make new friends there.
Also I will try another school and education, and I'm looking foward to it because I want to know what it is like.
In conclusion then, it'll be a very good learning experience because I'll improve my English and I'll make new friends, although I have to leave my friends of Spain.

i lived in miami , very h appy when again came a tornado , began to blow a wind, and broke trees

One day, caming back from the school we find our house on fire. We called the fire departament. The fire mans extinguished the fire and we saw all our things burned and destroyed.

If I were Scurry I would go to the police station. Our house has an insurance, so we only have to fix a few things.
If I were scurry I would sue because I think the fire has been provocated intentionally.
If I were Hem I would start to cry when i see my house on fire and i would get depressed.
If I were Hem I would go to a mental asylum and I would stay there for a long time.

Two sisters, Olga and Cristina lived together.
One day they were cooking in their kitchen and the telephone rang and they went to answer. The oil provoked a fire. The house was destroyed.
They must rebuild the house. Cristina was crying and crying but Olga told Cristina that she must be happy and don´t cry.
Cristina didn´t agree with the change and she went to live in her parent´s house.
Olga started to rebuild the house, and paint the walls, and buy the furnitures...
While, Cristina cryed and cryed.
When the house was build, Olga tried convinced Cristina but she cryed and cryed. Cristina had fear at change.
Finally, Olga convinced Cristina and they lived together again.
Cristina acted so Hem and she dosn´t accept the change.
If Cristina werw Hem sh would cry.ç
Olga acted so Haw and she acept the change.
If Olga were Haw she would rebuild the house.
Javier is the boss of a company. Because of the bad situation of the actual economy, his company has broken down and he has got no money.
Furthermore his wife is angry, because he can't go home often and many days he has to live out of home, because he is trying to improve the situation of his comany.
Finally she lives their home and he loses the company.
If Javier were be Scurry, he would have an innovative idea. This idea would make he changes and look for another market.
He Wolud start again with this new idea as he did when he was young.
If javier thought as Hem does, he wouldn't think about a new idea. He would be deppresed, without reaction. He would start to drink and it would get the situation worse.
Finally it is his wife who comes back and try to hel Javier
